DA-458/2024 - Telecommunications Infrastructure Tower - Lots 7,8,9 (No.41) James Street Guildford
The City has received a development application for a proposed ‘Telecommunications Infrastructure’ facility at Lots 7- 9 (No. 41) James Street, Guildford.
The land use of a ‘Telecommunications Infrastructure’ is a ‘D’ use within the ‘Private Clubs and Institutions’ zone under the City of Swan Local Planning Scheme No. 17. A ‘D’ use means that the use is not permitted unless the local government has exercised its discretion by granting planning approval.
The subject lot is located within the “Guildford Historic Town” which is on the State Register of Heritage Places protected by the Heritage Act 2018 and is designated as the Guildford Heritage Area under the City of Swan Local Planning Scheme No. 17. The application is also being advertised in accordance with the City’s Local Planning Policy POL-C-050 – Telecommunication (Mobile Phone) Facilities.
Details of the proposal are as follows:
Proposed facility will be owned by Indara and will host Vodafone and Optus telecommunication equipment, providing 4G and 5G services to the Town of Guildford and the surrounding areas
- One (1) 25m Indara monopole
- Nine (9) new panel antennas (4G and 5G)
- One (1) six bay outdoor equipment cabinet at ground level
- Ancillary equipment associated with operation and safety of the facility, including remote radio units, underground conduits, cabling and antenna mounts, group meter panel, bollards and other similar equipment
- The monopole and associated equipment will be finished in a pale grey, while the equipment cabinet will be a pale eucalypt or beige colour
- No vegetation removal is proposed
- The facility will be unmanned apart from periodic routine maintenance visits (generally 2-4 times annually).
